Resolve Land Grabbing

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a new initiative to tackle land grabbing, a longstanding issue. The CM assured the public that if anyone’s property is illegally occupied, they can submit an application to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. She promised that these cases would be resolved within days. The initiative aims to bring immediate relief to people who have faced this problem for years.

In her social media posts, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the government is committed to recovering occupied lands and resolving property disputes quickly. She directed authorities to prioritize cases involving the illegal occupation of widows’ properties. The CM expressed her dissatisfaction with the slow progress of cases in some districts, including Gujrat, Layyah, and Hafizabad.

Maryam Nawaz also instructed Assistant Commissioners in each tehsil to receive applications related to land grabbing. She highlighted the importance of timely decisions and asked for better coordination among officials. To ensure progress, the CM directed that all Deputy Commissioners hold daily meetings to review the status of ongoing cases. This initiative aims to expedite the resolution of disputes.

Officials revealed that over 2,900 applications regarding illegal land occupations have been received in the past three weeks. Of these, 499 cases have already been resolved through District Dispute Resolution Committees. The CM has also ordered the full implementation of the Punjab Ordinance 2025 to speed up the resolution process. She will personally monitor the situation to ensure that progress is made.

To keep the public informed, announcements will be made in mosques regarding the government’s efforts to address land grabbing. The CM’s initiative aims to offer quick and efficient relief to people suffering from illegal occupation of their properties. With daily monitoring and commitment from local authorities, the government plans to resolve this issue once and for all.
